Samsung NC10 (NP-NC10-KA01UK): Long Battery Life and Compact Size make this Model an attractive Netbook

The Samsung NC10 does not seek to be a pioneer or integrate some unconventional technology to revolutionise and transform the market of netbooks. However, what it seeks out to do is to use existing technology in a tighter format giving you excellent results. It has been designed to look compact and crisp. The developmental team at Korean firm Samsung have clearly studied the market and incorporated on hand technology to use in their own way.

The outcome of this is a 10.2 inch Netbook. The exterior has a matt finish with silver trim around the edges and all-in-all it feels robust. Powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 which is sufficient to run basic programs with ease, the performance is quite good. The 160 GB hard drive is ample space for a portable 10 inch. The 10.2 inch LCD has maximum resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels while the Intel GMA 950 graphics card onboard delivers good quality pictures. The Samsung NC10 (NP-NC10-KA01UK) netbook has three USB slots and a 3 in 1 card reader. The SIM card slot and the Bluetooth features enhance connectivity. The best aspect of this laptop is the increased battery life that goes on to about six to seven hours. It comes with a pre-loaded version of Windows XP and McAfee Internet Security. The size of the screen and the keyboard along with its position is a plus point. Though, the hinges allow the screen to be moved to a maximum of 45 degrees which could prove to be a disadvantage.

A remarkable option that has been aggressively priced the Samsung NC10 (NP-NC10-KA01UK) delivers great performance for a great value.

Safari 4: Is It Really Fast and Secure?

Apple has boasting over its Safari 4 for the past few days. The new iteration of the web client claims that it’s the fastest of all the web browsers available currently. According to Apple, Safari 4 is powered via Nitro engine that renders JavaScript 4.2 times faster than the engine used in Safari 3. Another prominent feature of the 4th version of Safari is that it’s the first web browser to support HTML 5 database and advanced CSS features.

But still it doesn’t mean that the Safari 4 will bring an end to all the browsing issues. Certain lab tests show that the Safari is still open to hacking and lacks a full proof code. Charlie Miller, who embarrassed the Apple MacBook Air and was the winner of last year’s Pwn2Own hacking contest, stated that Safari 4 is easy to crack and can be hacked multiple times. Apple has always been disgraced for its unsecured codes and this time also it seems that the company will fail to offer a much secured web browser.

Apart from this the experts believe that the Safari 4 will not offer anything faster in real time. No, that doesn’t mean that there’s some problem with the Nitro. Nitro engine is very much enhanced and works fine under controlled conditions but when it comes to real world web browsing the main bottlenecks are the bandwidth available for downloading content and workflow of the application. It simply implies that a poorly designed web site cannot be loaded speedily, although the Java Script engine can render the pages and execute the content at a blazing speed. So, this is not actually a problem of Safari 4 but as far as the code security is concerned the developers can still do something extra.

Safari aims high

Apple Safari since the day it was launched has created hype. There are so many web browsers available for windows already on the market, why would Apple Computer introduce a new one? This is a mind-boggling question isn’t it? Only time can evaluate its performance. Its new 3.1 version caught most Apple-watchers by surprise.

Apple Safari as compared to Internet Explorer or Mozilla Fox will still take some time to settle down in the web market. This new kid on the block is fast and sure to make networking & communication easy, but some problems are occurring with it. The font and toolbar option can be swapped around but the customize option is only accessible from the menu if you right click it and other main options are also not located in the menu. On various other grounds also Safari is criticized like the color of the tool bar is gray which hides the icons. So, it surely has a long way to go.

Apple safari lacks some things but it surely has great speed and sleek design. Everybody have different perspectives towards it, some like it some don’t. As they say time is the best remedy, so as Safari aims high lets see what happens!

Safari knows how to clearly emphasize the selected Options

Safari no doubt, is expanding its market share because of its way of representing the web pages with the help of highly interactive graphics. Modern day internet savvy users expect more and more in terms of browsing speed, graphics quality and user friendliness. Safari understands this very well and has proved it by emphasizing the selected options on a web page in a unique style.

Whenever an option on a webpage is selected it is marked clearly in Safari. Options which ask you to enter your username/password etc. gets surrounded by a cool blue colored border which clearly shows the selected option. This feature sounds very normal but it adds great value to the visual effects of the web pages. I have never seen this kind of feature in any other web browser. This is really a good piece of art and innovation. Not only the text boxes, but the command buttons, option buttons as well as the check boxes turns blue once you select them. It looks like a beautiful LED has been lit around these options. The Safari’s style of showing the progress of the web page is also unique. Instead of showing the progress in the progress bar (which is found on the status bar in other web browsers), Safari emphasizes the progress with a blue colored stripe in the address bar itself. Many users are attracted towards Safari because of this kind of presentation.

Safari may want to change the Fonts on the toolbar

Safari is being used by many Windows users nowadays. Since its beta release, Safari has been tested on a different basis to find out whether it can make Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator and some others obsolete or not. Well, so far Safari has proved itself the fastest among all the available web browsers in the cyber market and it is still trying to earn extra points day by day. As the Safari has become quite popular today more and more internet users try it to experience the remarkable web surfing experience. There are a lot of new, unique and exciting features in Safari which instantly arrest the attention of users. But there are some loop holes which are responsible for the negative marking of Safari. One such loop hole is the way the fonts are being displayed on the toolbar.

Just below the address bar, there are different shortcuts which can take you to your favorite web page in no time. This is really a good feature, but some users find it hard to read the names of these shortcuts until and unless they roll their mouse cursor over these shortcuts. The reason behind this is that the background color and the font color of the caption are same. In fact, it seems that the caption does not have its own color, it is merely embossed. This bothers the Safari users, especially those who have poor eyesight. So they want something which is bright and easy to read.
