The need for a stylish and powerful notebook finally seems to be gratified with the Dell’s new machine called Adamo. It’s a good -looking notebook computer that offers a 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 128GB solid state drive and 2 GB memory in its basic model.

Out of its two USB ports, one is a simple display port while the other one is a USB/eSATA port. Apart from all the other factors, it is quite evident that Dell has focussed on the design and looks. This perception is also supported by the words of Dell’s consumer marketing executive, who said, “We wanted something that is thin, elegant and offers quality that beat competitors.” Indeed, Dell managed to not only make the Adamo thinner that its other laptops like the Dell Studio 1737, but also actually surpassed the Apple MacBook Air in terms of slimness. And whilst we definitely agree on how sleek and well designed the Adamo is, there is one noticeable drawback; namely, its higher than expected weight.

I don’t mean that Adamo is heavy but it is definitely not as light as one may perceive it to be. It is obvious that when you hear about a slim and sleek gadget, it is obvious that you pre-assume that it must be light in weight. But it weighs four pounds that is little more than the three pounds of the Macbook Air. If compared with the latest models in the market, you will find the HP’s Voodoo Envy to be very similar in terms of styling.

Other advantages of the Dell Adamo include the scalloped keys that facilitate touch typing and a glowing, polished finish.
