Elonex OneT Pink: Very Unique and Portable Webbook
Sometimes all you need is a fairly basic computer that meets the dailyrequirements. The OneT is a relatively simple portable webbook from Elonex and comes as a predecessor to the innovative ‘One’ notebook.
This webbook has the exterior done in a clamshell design and is available in a range of bright colours. Powered by an Elonex built chip that registers a clock speed of 400 MHz and a 2 GB SSD RAM its speed is relatively low in comparison to the blazing speed offered by most laptops nowadays. The slow processing speed means that Microsoft Windows Operating Systems can’t be used on the computer. Nevertheless it comes pre-loaded with a version of Linux that has been tailored for the OneT. The Elonex Onet Pink ultra mobile PC features a small 7 inch screen with a maximum resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. The screen delivers a very decent playback and due to the fact that there is no dedicated graphics card onboard the images displayed lack vivid contrast and rich detail. The XIP suite on it features a word processor and a spreadsheet that are compatible with Office 2003. It uses a customised e-mail program and Mozilla Firefox has been put in it for surfing the web. Users can connect to the net using the Wi-Fi or through the Ethernet (cable). The built-in speakers are not great and using a pair of good headphones with this is a better option. It has an old version of Flash this concurrently means that many new sites that require the new flash version will not play on it. Even though the size of the keyboard is sufficient the amount of space offered on this mini-notebook is not. However it has 3 USB ports and a SD memory card slot that allows you to store more data. At about 650 grams this is quite light and a very basic laptop.
The company offers a discount to people from the education sector. Unlike its brightly coloured, extremely conspicuous exterior design the interiors are not up to expected standard, but for students on the go this could prove to be the best bet around.
