Asus Eee PC 900: One of the more impressive Eee PC Netbook Models

The Eee PC 900 is one of Asus’ flagship netbooks. The Eee 900 series was first officially launched on April 16, 2008 in Hong Kong. This product was officially launched in the UK on May 1, 2008 for £329 including VAT. The dimension of Eee 900 series is a little larger than that of the 70x models and measures around 225*165*35mm and it weighs around 1kg.

This product comes with an array of features which has a multi touch track pad which allows two fingers scrolling and zooming through “pinch” gesture. The machine is available in different configuration like Linux and Windows XP. the Asus Eee PC 900 20G Linux comes with 20GB hard drive, whilst the XP version comes with only 16GB of storage. The storage in the Windows edition had to be sacrificed in order for Asus to maintain the netbooks price range where the company wanted.

The Windows XP version is known as the Eee PC900 win and this comes in two versions: one with total storage capacity of 12 GB (4 GB SSD and 8 GB SSD) and the other with 16GB (on a single SSD). Both the Linux 20G version and the Windows 20G version are sold at the same price. But in case of 16 GB Eee the Windows version is priced more than the Linux version. The Windows version is preinstalled with the Microsoft Works and Windows Live suite. It also pre includes star suite 8 otherwise the machines are identical with 1GB RAM.
