Hewlett-Packard HP Mini 2140 (NN356EA#ABU): Sleek and Compact Windows Netbook
The HP Mini 2140 is an impressive netbook from Hewlett Packard. The device is a very good one when the features are being compared with the other models in the same segment. The model sports a Intel Atom processor N270 which has a speed of 1.67 GHz. The memory of the device is 1GB and the hard disc is having a capacity of one hundred and sixty GB with a speed of five thousand four hundred rpm.
The device also has a graphics card in it which is GMA 950 from Intel. The operating system installed in the device is the home edition of Windows XP service pack. The size of the screen is 10.1 inches and the Hewlett-Packard HP Mini 2140 (NN356EA#ABU) netbook has a net weight of three pounds. The case of the HP Mini 2140 is of Aluminium and it is because of this the weight of the laptop is a little higher but the increase in weight is well balanced by the additional protection the case provides.
The awesome keyboard design has always been the major selling point in the HP segment. The keyboard is a little oversized which results in an enhanced typing experience. The touch pad of the HP Mini is of the unusual shape with a small change in the placing of the mouse keys. The display of the device is LED and has a resolution of 1,024×576 which is quite good for these segment laptops.

Speed-squabbles continue – Safari Vs Firefox
Was it in my last post that I was shouting at the top of my voice that Safari 3.1 is the fastest loading browser of all? No it was earlier than that because I did blog saying the Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 is marginally faster. Now it seems Safari 3.1 is indeed faster then came the Firefox-retaliation saying the test should be done after disabling all extensions installed.
While the squabble continues on speed, most of us sitting happy with Safari 3.1 are enjoying the tabbed browsing, re-sizing and the light interface. I especially love the way the Safari messages you in a small window right on top and thereby not taking the plum spot on the page you were browsing. Try searching a word on your page and see it highlighted everywhere down the page.
If you are a Firefox user, you must have realized that while downloading, all the plug-ins you need are pulled from the Firefox as Apple uses the same format. However, if you are on Internet Explorer chances are that sites like YouTube will need to have Adobe Plug-ins installed for smooth browsing. I repeatedly get this problem with the Safari 3.1 on my Windows Vista system with Internet Explorer 7. Surely, Apple needs to look into this the next time they revamp the Safari 3.1 for Windows.
Are you still on Windows XP with Firefox? Write-in to me on how it was for you while downloading the Safari 3.1 for Windows. On the Vista I will give it an 8 out of 10 for smooth sailing!

Safari 3.1 on Windows remains the Fastest: Dubious Test Results Overturned
Sluggish internet surfing can be especially frustrating and speed, as always, is king. Everyone who uses Safari is impressed by its fast page loading, but is it the fastest as Apple claims? The answer depends both on who you ask, and on what tests you use to determine browser speed. According to the industry standard iBench tests, Safari on Windows is more than double the speed of Internet Explorer 7 and at least 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2. This remains unchanged, but there is a new challenger on the horizon in the form of Firefox 3.0 Beta who is reportedly faster than the current champion Safari, according to results from Adrian Kingsley-Hughes. The key word here is “reportedly”, because as a closer look by Arts Technical confirms, Safari remains the faster browser.
Firstly, the test in which Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 outpaced Safari compared the stable and official version of Safari 3.1 to a still in development test version of Firefox 3.0. Clearly that is an unfair match up. The people at Arts Technica took it upon themselves to use the latest webkit version of Safari 3.1 to compare against Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 and they threw in the official version for good measure as well. In the results using the same SunSpider Javascript Benchmark, the webkit build fast outperforms Firefox 3b5, as does the official version. However, rather than stopping at only testing Javascript performance as the only benchmark of a browser’s speed as Kingsley Hughes did, the people at Art Technica ran multiple other tests. The results: Safari 3.1 remains the best overall performer and it is clear that Apple’s claims were not dubious marketing tactics, but rather the truth.
