Will the average Windows user embrace the Safari 3.1?
Do you like getting an unnecessary toolbar sneakily with any download you did from the net? Chances are that you are irritated and go about uninstalling and deleting what you do not need. Worse, these days are the updaters – that hold you for ransom. I for one never go for the recommended installation option - otherwise called typical installation and instead choose the custom option. Armed with more control you can uncheck unwanted software and updaters and just keep exactly what I require.
Apple is trying some sneaky installations too and will it work against them or will it make the Safari 3.1 the chosen browser by all? The average Windows user is in a comfort zone and will be very wary of unwanted stuff. Windows users are these days, coaxed into downloading the Safari 3.1 especially while downloading iTunes. While the Safari for Windows Vista or XP is relatively new, Apple needs to get as many to convert to the Safari as soon as possible. For the average user the temptation is big but lingering suspicion of security issues prevent people from checking the download button for Safari 3.1.
Safari 3.1 has proved that it is the fastest browser around and looks fresh and clean with none of the unnecessary clutter that is on other browsers. In its simplicity lies the beauty of the Safari. The Snapback option gives easy access to YouTube, Yahoo and Wikipedia to name a few without having to install new buttons all add to its snazzy appeal. So let us wait and watch!
